Food. Service. Style.
The Cape - a Thompson Hotel, in Cabo San Lucas excels in all of the above, making it one of our favorite #luxelistapproved destinations.
Starting with the dramatic entrance to the Lobby, you can see the contemporary design, clean lines and neutral color palate that famed Mexican Architect Javier Sanchez used. The Arch of Cabo, known by locals as El Arco provides the picturesque backdrop for The Cape. From every room, restaurant, pool and bar, El Arco is the focal point.
The Cape provides two pools, beach access and a beach shack to all of its guests. The main pool with an infinity edge overlooking the ocean and El Arco is the main hangout spot of the hotel, and it is easy to see why. From the poolside service to the stunning views and sounds of the waves crashing below, you will never want to leave. While at the pool you might see the surfers down below riding the 3-6' waves. If you feel like trying it out, you can walk down to the beach shack and grab one of the hotel's surf boards. Or you can watch the professionals while enjoying a tequila flight or cocktail at the beach shack at Monument's Beach.
When you get hungry there are more than a few options at The Cape, and each one is phenomenal. The Ledge serves breakfast, lunch and dinner daily from 630 am to 10 pm. You can find anything from fresh ceviches and octopus tacos to pancakes and eggs. My personal breakfast always consists of a cappuccino and French toast ((highly recommended by the servers!!)). If you are looking for some apps and the perfect cocktail, head to The Glass Box. Yes, it is exactly what it sounds like. Architect Javier Sanchez created a beautiful bar that is surrounded by glass so you never lose sight of the stunning scenery. For dinner be sure at least once to check out Manta by Chef Enrique Olvera. Manta is the sophisticated signature seafood restaurant of The Cape. To top off the perfect culinary day, be sure to head to Cabo San Lucas' ONLY rooftop bar! Located 6 floors up at The Cape, it is truly something magnificent, especially at sunset.
With 161 guest rooms with various options of bi-level suites, private rooftops, hanging day beds, plunge pools and villas, there is something for everyone. The base room at The Cape is the Deluxe King Room, but don't let the word "base" fool you, as at this luxury boutique hotel- there is no such thing. The Deluxe King Rooms come with private balconies and hanging daybeds overlooking El Arco. It also has a rain shower with free standing copper-leafed tub, perfect for a long soak after a day in the sun. One of my absolute favorite rooms The Cape offers are their Panoramic Suites. These are corner suites that have private balconies and plunge pools overlooking the ocean with unobstructed views of El Arco as well as a standing telescope for whale watching and 360 degree rain shower with panoramic views of the ocean. The Panoramic Suites are well worth the upgrade and perfect for couples! Another favorite at The Cape are their Penthouses. The Penthouses at The Cape are bi-level suites with a 1,000 sq ft rooftop private balcony with lounge seating, a wet bar, a BBQ, a pergola and a plunge pool offering views of the ocean and El Arco.
The Cape - a Thompson Hotel is the perfect place for a couples getaway or honeymoon, and would be absolutely breathtaking for a destination wedding. If you are interested in booking a trip to The Cape in Cabo San Lucas please feel free to reach out to us at: email@example.com
